When in Samplitude:
Press JawsKey plus H in any Window to get specific keystroke help.
Press Control plus F4 to close a window.
and
Press Control plus W to close the current project.
Keystrokes For Obtaining Window Information
When in the VIP/Arranger Window:
-
To hear the name of the VIP/Arranger Window, press JawsKey plus Control plus T.
-
Press JawsKey plus Control plus T twice quickly for the name of the Samplitude application, (gives current build and project name.
-
Press JawsKey plus 1 to toggle keyboard help on/off.
When in a VST plug-in or Softsynth:
-
Press JawsKey plus Control plus T once to obtain information about the VST Window.
-
Press JawsKey plus Control plus T twice quickly to obtain the name of the loaded plug-in plus information.
-
Press JawsKey plus 1 to toggle keyboard help on/off.
Note: the above-mentioned JawsKey plus Control plus T keystrokes can be used to check where you are or obtain information in other Windows throughout Samplitude such as the EQ etc. You can also press JawsKey plus 1 to toggle keyboard help on/off within various other windows.
VIP/Arranger Window Keystrokes
The following JAWS keystrokes only apply within the VIP/Arranger Window.
Quick Controls:
Volume status equals JawsKey plus Home.
Track Name equals JawsKey plus Up Arrow.
Pan status equals JawsKey plus Page Up.
Solo Status equals JawsKey plus Left Arrow.
Record Status= jawsKey plus NumPad 5 pressed once.
Monitoring Status= JawsKey plus numpad 5 pressed twice.
Mute Status equals JawsKey plus Right Arrow.
Selected Object equals shift plus enter, JawsKey plus End or JawsKey plus F5.
Current range = shift plus enter twice quickly, JawsKey plus end twice quickly or JawsKey plus F7.
Say Position equals control plus enter or JawsKey plus Down Arrow.
Press twice quickly to open the position edit field.
Note: Press enter immediately after pressing one of the above keystrokes to activate the Control.
To speak the currently selected objects start, press Control plus jawsKey plus home.
To speak the currently selected objects length, press (Control plus jawsKey plus up arrow.
To speak the currently selected objects end, press Control plus jawsKey plus page up.
Alternatively, for laptop users, press jawsKey plus F6 once for the selected objects start position, twice for the length and 3 times for the end position.
To speak the current range start, press Control plus jawsKey plus left arrow.
To speak the current range length, press Control plus jawsKey plus numpad 5.

Main Controls:

To move through the VIP Window main Controls, press tab or Shift plus Tab.

To access any Controls context menu in the tab order, press Control plus Applications or perform a JAWS right mouse click with NumPad Star.

To move to the prior track, press Up Arrow.
-
To move to the next track, press Down Arrow.
-
To scroll the track list up if available, press Shift plus Control plus up Arrow.
-
To scroll the track list down if available, press Shift plus Control plus Down Arrow.
-
To move to the lower section, press Control plus Down Arrow.
-
To move to the upper section, press Control plus Up Arrow.
-
To jump to a track, press control plus J and type the track number or name of the track you want to jump to.
Note: Jumping to a track supports up to a maximum of 80 tracks.

Press Alt plus N to rename the track.

To play/stop, press Spacebar.

To recall the last stop position, press Control plus backspace.
-
To recall the last position, press Backspace.
Note: recall the last position cycles among the last 5 previous positions that the play cursor was located.

To play with pre-load (play/stop and return to play position), press Shift plus Spacebar.

To play once (play/stop and begin playback from play position), press F12.

To play in a range/loop, press Shift plus P.

To play a loop, press Shift plus L.

To pause playback, press Comma.

To restart playback, press Period.

To play to the cut start, press Control plus F5.

Move to the start of the project by pressing home.

Move to the end of the project by pressing end.

To move the section right, press Control plus Alt plus equals.

To move the section left, press Control plus Alt plus dash.
Note: Moving sections left/right will move by different amounts depending on the zoom ratio.

To move forwards through the project by the transport amount, press Right Arrow.

To move backwards through the project by the transport amount, press Left Arrow.

To toggle the speaking of your position when pressing left/right arrow keys, press control plus shift plus enter.
-
To set the transport to 1 beat, press Shift plus F5.
-
To set the transport to 1 bar, press Shift plus F6.
-
To set the transport to 2 bars, press Shift plus F7.

To set the transport to 4 bars, press Shift plus F8.

To set the transport to quantization, press Shift plus F9.

To hear information about the current track, press Control plus JawsKey plus end.

To insert a track(s), press Control plus Shift plus 1.

To add 1 track, press Control plus Shift plus 2.

To add a new midi track, press Control plus Shift plus 3.

To add several tracks , press Control plus Shift plus 4.

To insert a new midi object in range, press Shift plus Alt plus 0.
Note: The above keystroke Alt plus Shift plus 0 will create a midi object to the size of the current range. This is helpful if you want to create a midi object anywhere
from 1 beat/bar to the full length of the project!

To copy the selected track(s), press Alt plus c.
-
To cut the selected track(s), press Alt plus x.
-
To paste the track(s), press Alt plus v.
-
To delete the selected track(s), press Alt plus delete.
Note: The above track copy, cut and paste can also be used to rearrange the track order.

To copy, press Control plus c or C.
-
To cut, press X.
-
To paste/insert clip, press V.
-
To delete, press Delete.
-
To cut with ripple, press Control plus X.
-
To paste with ripple, press Control plus V.
-
To ripple delete, press Control plus Delete.

To copy FX on a track, press Alt plus Control plus 1.

To paste FX on a track, press Alt plus Control plus 2.

To reset FX on a track, press Alt plus Control plus 3.

To save FX on a track, press Alt plus Control plus 4.

To load FX on a track, press Alt plus Control plus 5.

To open the effects menu, press the F key.

To query if an effect is loaded on a track, or to open/ close JAWS Effects mode to access any effects slots, press the G key.

To insert the EQ116 on to a track, (1 instance only), press Shift plus Control plus F.
-
To reorder track FX, press Alt plus Control plus 6 to open the FX Routing window.
-
To insert silence, press Control plus Shift plus Comma.
-
To insert a tempo change, press Control plus Shift plus P.
-
To insert a time signature change, press Control plus Shift plus U.
-
To hide the current track, press Control plus Alt plus Comma.
-
To unhide all tracks, press Control plus Alt plus Period.
Note: by default, the master bus is hidden. However, pressing Control plus Alt plus Period will unhide it.
-
Press alt plus enter once to maximize the track, twice to show approximately 8 to 10 tracks if available and 3 times to show all tracks.
Note: The above keystroke will reset the track to the required zoom level if you experience track navigation issues.
-
To show less tracks if available, press alt plus comma.
-
To show more tracks if available, press alt plus period.
-
To report on the current track view, press alt plus slash.
To open/close a folder track, press Control plus Alt plus F.
-
To set Markers 1 through 10, press Shift plus 1 through Shift plus 0.
-
To set a Marker with a name, press Control plus Shift plus Slash.
-
To move to Marker 1 through 10, press 1 through 0.
-
To move to the prior Marker, press F2.
-
To move to the next Marker, press F3.
-
To set Markers with auto number, press Shift plus Slash or F4.
-
To delete the selected Marker, press Shift plus F4.
-
To delete all Markers, press Control plus Shift plus F4.
-
To toggle the Audio Marker Manager, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus K.
-
To insert an audio marker, press Alt plus Shift plus K.
-
To mute or unmute the current track, press Alt plus M.
-
To choose various options such as global solo options or set audio and MIDI outputs, press Control plus Applications or perform a JAWS right mouse click with NumPad Star.

To toggle global mute-unmute, press Alt plus Left Bracket.
-
To solo or unsolo the current track, press Alt plus S.
-
To choose various options such as global solo options or set audio and MIDI outputs, press Control plus Applications or perform a JAWS right mouse click with NumPad Star.

To exclusively solo or unsolo the current track, press Alt plus Shift plus S.
-
To toggle global solo-unsolo, press Alt plus Right Bracket.
-
To arm or disarm the current track, press Alt plus R.
-
To set an audio track to Stereo or mono, choose Mono In / Stereo FX, check Audio Record, check MIDI Record, check VST MIDI Out – Recording, No VSTi (Audio - Recording) or choose Audio or MIDI inputs, press Control plus Applications or perform a JAWS right mouse click with NumPad Star.
Note: a track can be used for recording Audio or MIDI and this menu is where that is toggled. The option that is currently checked is the one that is active. If Audio recording is checked then you can change from Stereo to Mono. Once Mono is selected then you can if you wish, choose Mono inputs for recording and use Mono In / Stereo FX.

To arm the track exclusively (only the track you're on), press Alt plus Control plus R.
-
To unarm all tracks, press Alt plus Shift plus R.
-
To activate MIDI panic all notes off, press Shift plus Alt plus Control plus N.
-
To edit the volume, press Alt plus L.
-
Press Shift plus Up Arrow, Shift plus Down Arrow, Down Arrow, Up Arrow, Page Down and Page Up to change values by smaller and larger amounts respectively.
-
To choose various volume options E.G. change audio volume to MIDI volume ore add a track to a VCA group when focused on the volume Control of a track, press Control plus Applications or perform a JAWS right mouse click with NumPad Star.
-
To open the Adjust Volume window, press Shift plus Alt plus L.
-
To toggle the volume curve status, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus l.
-
To open the automation menu when focused over the volume curve, press Control plus Applications or perform a JAWS right mouse click with NumPad Star.
-
To edit the pan position, press Alt plus P.
-
Press Shift plus Up Arrow, Shift plus Down Arrow, Down Arrow, Up Arrow, Page Down and Page Up to change values by smaller and larger amounts respectively.
-
To toggle the pan curve status, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus P.
-
Press control plus Applications or perform a JAWS right mouse click with NumPad Star on the pan control or pan curve to launch the Track Panning.
-
To toggle monitoring for the current track, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus F.
-
To lock or unlock the current track, press Alt plus K.
-
To bring up the context menu for the current track, where you can insert other Audio/MIDI/tracks/busses etc, press Applications.
-
To bring up the revolver menu for the current track, press Control plus Alt plus V.
-
To move to the prior revolver track, press Alt plus Up Arrow.
-
To move to the next revolver track, press Alt plus Down Arrow.
-
To toggle the phase of the selected track, press the letter H.
Note: In the VIP/Arranger, toggling this control will only report if it's on or off. If you need to check the state, please do this in the track editor.
-
Press control plus alt plus s to switch the current track to a stereo track.
-
Press control plus alt plus M to toggle mono/stereo for the current track.
-
To switch to the bars/beats format, press Alt plus Shift plus 1.
-
To switch to the hours/minutes/seconds format, press Alt plus Shift plus 2.
-
To select snap to bars/beats, press Alt plus Shift plus 3.
-
To select snap to frames, press Alt plus Shift plus 4.
-
To open Midi options, press Alt plus Shift plus 5.
-
To open system audio options, press Alt plus Shift plus 6 or the letter Y.
-
To open the snap-grid settings, press Alt plus Shift plus 7.
-
To open metronome options, press Alt plus Shift plus 8.
-
To bring up the Track Options dialog, Press Alt plus I.
-
To set a punch In Marker, press Shift plus Left Bracket.
-
To set a punch Out Marker, press Shift plus Right Bracket.
Note: Currently no feedback of the selected punch in range. Also, punch recording must be turned on in the transport Console Window.
-
To speak the colour of the current audio signal running through the track meters, press F5.
-
To speak the colour of the current audio peak signal on the track meters, press F6.
-
To move to the selected objects peak position and speak the maximum value, press F7.
-
To speak the selected objects maximum peak and position, press F8.
- To open/close the Visualization Window, press control plus alt plus shift plus V.
Note: When in the Visualization Window, press F5 to open the Visualization menu, F6 through to F8 to speak meters and press F9 to reset the meters.

To tap in a custom tempo map, press Apostrophe. Works in conjunction with the Tempo Map Grid Fit Mode.
-
To select scrubbing Jog-Absolute, press Alt plus F5.
-
To select scrubbing 2 speed, press Alt plus F6.
-
To select scrubbing Shuttle-Relative, press Alt plus F7.
-
To change the play direction, press Alt plus F8.
-
To scrub left, press Left Bracket. See the menu items Play/Rec/Playback mode/.

To scrub right, press Right Bracket. See the menu items Play/Rec/Playback mode/.

To open the advanced Track Bouncing dialog, press Control plus B.

To open the recording options, press Shift plus R.

To open the project status, press Shift plus I.

To open the mixer set up, press Shift plus Control plus M.

To open the mouse mode menu, press Alt plus Control plus O.

To open the extended midi quantize menu, press Alt plus Control plus Q.

To set a track CD index, press Alt plus Control plus I.

To remove all track CD indices, press Shift plus Alt plus Control plus I.
VIP-Ranges
-
To speak the current range, press jawsKey plus end twice or JawsKey plus F7.

To speak the current range start, press Control plus jawsKey plus left arrow.

To speak the current range length, press Control plus JawsKey plus numpad 5.

To speak the current range end, press Control plus jawsKey plus right arrow.

To select a range to the beginning, press Shift plus Home.

To select a range to the end, press Shift plus End.

To set the range to 1 beat, press Control plus 1.

To set the range to 4 beats, press Control plus 3.

To set the range to 8 beats, press Control plus 4.

To set the range to 16 beats, press Control plus 5.

To recall the last range, press Control plus R.
Note: to recall the last range, an existing range must be drawn. E.G. you draw a range from bar 1 to 2. You then draw another range from bar 10 to 11. Pressing this key will toggle between these 2 ranges.

To edit the range start, press Control plus 6.
-
To edit the range length, press Control plus 7.
-
To edit the range end, press Control plus 8.
-
To set the range start to the left Marker, press Shift plus F2.
-
To set the range end to the right Marker, press Shift plus F3.
-
To initiate a range, or to expand the existing range end right by the transport amount, press Shift plus Right Arrow.
Note: You can initiate and expand a range with the above keystroke, similar to selecting text in a word processor. Amounts are set by the current transport settings.

To extend the range bottom, press Shift plus Down Arrow.
-
To reduce the range bottom, press Shift plus Up Arrow.
-
To move the range end left by the transport amount, press Shift plus Left Arrow.
-
To move the range start right by the transport amount, press Control plus Shift plus Right Arrow.
-
To move the range start left by the transport amount, press Control plus Shift plus Left Arrow.
-
To draw a range to the selected objects right border, press shift plus equals.
-
To draw a range to the selected objects left border, press shift plus dash.
-
To edit the range start, press control plus 6.
-
To edit the range length, press control plus 7.
-
To edit the range end, press control plus 8.
-
To set the initial start/from range, press control plus 9.
Note: After setting the initial from range with control plus 9, move the playback to the desired position for the range through and press the below keystroke.

To set the end/through range, press control plus 0.
-
To move the playback marker to the range start, press control plus dash.
-
To move the playback marker to the range end, press control plus equals.
-
To flip the range right, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus Page Up.
-
To flip the range left, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus Page Down.

To set the range to the selected object, press F9.
-
To set the range to the current track, press F10.
-
To set the range to all tracks, press F11.
-
To remove a range, press Alt plus Shift plus Back Space.

And to loop the selected range, press Shift plus L.
VIP-Objects
While in the VIP:
-
To speak the currently selected object if available, press JawsKey plus End or F10.
-
To select all objects, press Control plus A.
-
To unselect all objects, press Control plus Shift plus A.
-
To select the object under the play Marker/Range, press Alt plus Shift plus A.
-
To select objects in the active track, press Shift plus A.
-
To initiate an object selection and zoom to that object, press the letter Z.
Note: Pressing the letter z will do the following:
1. Select the object nearest to your current position.
2. Zoom to that object showing it's full name, hence bypassing any zoom ratio adjustment.
-
To select the prior object, press alt plus left arrow.
-
To select the next object, press alt plus right arrow.
Note: For best results, use alt plus left arrow and alt plus right arrow after pressing the letter Z to initiate an object selection, as this automatically zooms to the correct ratio.
-
To add the prior object to the selection, press Alt plus Shift plus Left Arrow.
-
To add the next object to the selection, press Alt plus Shift plus Right Arrow.
-
To play the selected object, press Control plus Spacebar.
-
To hear the selected objects name and position information, press shift plus enter, JawsKey plus end or JawsKey plus F5.
-
Press Alt plus Shift plus O to open the selected objects menu.
-

To temporary ungroup selected objects currently in a group, press Alt plus Control plus U.

To temporary ungroup all objects from a group, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus U.

To duplicate selected objects, press Control plus D.

To open the dialog where you can duplicate selected objects multiple times, press Alt plus Control plus D.

To trim selected objects, press Control plus T.

To toggle the mute state of the selected object/objects, press Control plus M.
Note: The mute status is displayed within the object name, so please make sure the object is fully visible.

To toggle the loop state of the selected object/objects, press Control plus L).

To move the selected object Down a track, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus Down Arrow.

To move the selected object up a track, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus Up Arrow.

To open the object fade-step settings, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus J.

To move the selected object left (step 1), press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus Left.

To move the selected objects start to the play cursor position, press Shift plus Alt plus Control plus 9.

To move the selected objects end to the play cursor position, press Shift plus Alt plus Control plus 0.

To move the playback Marker left to an objects border, press Shift plus Alt plus Control plus Dash.

To move the playback Marker right to an objects right border, press Shift plus Alt plus Control plus Equals.
Note: Moving to any objects left or right border is available on all objects unselected or not.

To select object mode normal, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus f7.
-
To select object mode until silence, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus f8.
-
To select object mode 1 track to the right, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus f9.
-
To select object mode all tracks to the right, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus f10.
-
To toggle reverse for the selected object, press Control plus Shift plus V.
-
To swap channels for the selected object, press Control plus Shift plus W.
-
To edit a copy of wave content in the wave editor, press Alt plus Shift plus E.

To extract Controller curves from selected midi objects, press Control plus Shift plus X.
-
To open the selected objects menu, press alt plus shift plus O.
-
To open the selected objects take menu if available, press control plus K.

Plug-in Browser Keystrokes
The following JAWS keystrokes only apply within the Plug-in Browser window:

Press Tab and Shift plus Tab to move through available columns of the Plug-in Browser.

Press Enter to open a selected plug-in.
-
Press Space to toggle any checkbox Control.
-
Press Down Arrow and Press Right Arrow to expand/open a folder.
-
Press Left Arrow to compress/close a folder.
-
Press Alt plus C To show/move to the Category column.
-
Press Alt plus E To show/move to the Effects column.
-
Press Alt plus I To show/move to the Instruments column.
-
Press Alt plus L To show/move to the Location column.
-
Press Alt plus F To show/move to the Favourites column.
-
Press Alt plus R To show/move to the Recently Used column.

And Press enter on the close button or Control plus f4 to close the Plug-in Browser.
VIP/Arranger Window -FX Shortcuts
-
To open the FX context menu, press F.
-
To open the Plug-in Browser, press B.
-
To hear if a Plug-in is loaded on the track or to access any loaded Plug-ins, toggle JAWS FX Mode by pressing the letter G or F9.
-
To insert the EQ116 on to a track, (1 instance only), press Control plus Shift plus F.
-
And to insert the EQ116 into the track as an effect or if you wish to cascade the EQ E.G. insert multiple instances of the EQ on to 1 track/bus, press F to open the FX menu and choose the EQ.
When in JAWS FX mode:

to change this to whatever value you want after it's been inserted. After inserting a note, it is automatically selected to edit.

Audio Quantization Wizard
To get to the Audio Quantization Wizard Dialog box perform the following steps:

Use the Down Arrow key to navigate to the Audio Quantization Wizard.

Note: There is an issue in the Audio Quantize window when setting the transient detection sensitivity. Jaws will crash if you tab back to this control, so here's a work-around:
After Setting Quantize value and transient detection sensitivity To your liking, tab to the one click button and click it. This will perform split at transients, quantize And fill gaps between objects successfully.
If you would rather do these operations separately, Click the split at transients button Instead, then leave the wizard and perform The quantize and fill gaps operations One by one from the tempo Menu where you will find a button for each of them, Including hard or soft quantize.

Tab and Check the "Extended Options" Check box to see all available options in this dialog box.

1. Moving up or down a track is currently only available when on the volume control in the main section. In order to update the information on the track:
A. Press up/down to move to another track.

2. Pressing any shortcut key like alt plus S for solo, alt plus M for mute etc is currently disabled, as performing these keystrokes do not move you to the control, they will only activate the control without any feedback. If you want to still use these controls until they are addressed:
A. Pass the key through by pressing jaws key plus 3 on the numbers row.
B. Press the keystroke in question.
3. Currently the "lock" control does not report the state.
This native accessibility has been included with all the known issues so that users can start to experience how to interact with controls via this method. It is understood that things are not complete, but it is hoped these issues will be addressed shortly.
- Press control plus alt plus shift plus E or control plus F4 to close the Track editor.

To toggle the Track Editor, press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus E.

To move through the Track Editor main Controls, press Tab or Shift plus Tab.

To move Down a track, press Down Arrow.

To move up a track, press Up Arrow.

To hear the name of the selected track, press Control plus Shift plus N, press twice quickly to edit/rename.

To toggle the phase of the selected track, press the letter H.
Press Control plus applications key for the associated Controls menu.

To toggle mono for the current track, press Alt plus Shift plus O.

To toggle the reading of automation data for the selected track, press Alt plus Shift plus U.
Press Control plus applications key for the associated Controls menu.

To activate a MIDI track, press Alt plus Shift plus D.

To open the Midi input Channel menu, press Alt plus Shift plus I.
Press twice to open the Midi output Channel menu.

To refresh the screen, press JawsKey plus Escape.

And press Control plus Alt plus Shift plus E or Control plus F4 to close the Track Editor.
Track Manager
The following JAWS keystrokes only apply within the Track Manager:

To toggle the Track Manager, press Shift plus Control plus S.

To hear what tracks are visible, press Control plus T.

To show the top visible tracks, press Home.
-
To show the bottom visible tracks, press End.
-
To scroll the track list down, press Page Down.
-
To scroll the track list up, press Page Up.
-
To toggle the selection of a track, press the enter key.
Note: the currently selected and master tracks cannot be toggled. For example, if you have track 1 selected in the VIP and then move into the track Manager. Track 1 cannot be toggled, as it is the currently selected track, and at least 1 track has to be selected. The master track will always be unselected.

To hear what visible tracks are selected, press Alt plus T.

To hear what visible tracks are soloed, press Alt plus S.

To hear what visible tracks are muted, press Alt plus M.
-
To hear what visible tracks are armed, press Alt plus R.

To hear what visible tracks are frozen, press Alt plus F.
Note: When checking any selected, muted, soloed, armed or frozen tracks in the Track Manager, only the visible tracks will be checked. To check any further tracks, you will need to scroll down. Forty six tracks can be visible at once by default.

To move to the next track, press Down Arrow.

To move to the prior track, press Up Arrow.

Press delete to delete any selected tracks.
-
To move the selected track up, press Control plus Up Arrow.

To move the selected track down, press Control plus Down Arrow.

To open the track context menu when in the track list, press the applications key.

Press Tab and Shift plus Tab to move through Controls.

Press enter to activate a Control.

Automation Curve Generator

Use up/down arrow keys and page up/down keys to change values in an edit field.
Note: Some edit fields do not allow the use of these keystrokes, so in such cases, type in a value.

Press function keys to jump to specific sections of the dialog. E.g. filter characteristics, options etc.
Note: The use of the function keys differs in each plugin of the Restoration Suite. E.g. some dialogs only have F1 to F4 available, others may have F1 to f8 available.

Vocoder Window
To get to the Vocoder Window, perform the following steps:

Open the affects menu by pressing F.
