Samplitude Access March 2025 build: Samplitude hotspots, easy configuration re-install and fixes made

Posted in General Posts and News

There’s a new Samplitude Access update now available, which brings support for Samplitude’s hotspots, along with an easy re-install of all Samplitude Access configuration files via a keystroke.

Samplitude hotspots, not to be confused with HotSpot Clicker, is a way to line up specific parts of an object by inserting a hotspot into an object. So, rather than aligning the start or end of an object and then nudging that object into place in order to align it exactly where you want it, hotspots enable you to move the hotspot inserted to the play cursor position, hence getting audio to align precisely . This is super useful and makes things much more efficient.

Also, in this build is a way to re-install all samplitude configuration files easily via a keystroke. Due to the fact that some specific mouse over flags are reset after a Samplitude update, it has previously been necessary to run the Samplitude Access installer again in order to configure things again. Now, with this March build, you can simply press a keystroke and all the needed files that handle the mouse over flags, along with specific font changes are re-installed.

This is done via a small Python script that gets installed during the initial Samplitude access install process. It places a folder alongside other Samplitude Access files like documentation etc, that includes this Python file and all dependencies needed to re-install and configure Samplitude Access. Then, when an update has been done, simply pressing a keystroke via the Arranger with Samplitude running, it will run the Python file and get you back up and running with no hassle.

The Python script has been tested and is 100% safe to install, but if you do have any questions about this, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Lastly, as always, there have been some tidying up and bug fixes done, namely in the Track Manager and the Object Manager. Some highlighted problems have now been resolved and all should be working as expected.
