Samplitude Access V10.1 now brings support for Jaws 2025!

Posted in General Posts and News

Just in time for Christmas, Samplitude Access V10.1 for Samplitude ProX8 Suite/X8 has been released!

This build brings support for Jaws 2025, which has come in line with narrator and NVDA, in as much as it now speak’s track, time, range and object information natively. Previously, this wasn’t the case and dedicated script had to handle this aspect. This means we’re at a bit of a cross-roads, as there will still be users with jaws 2024, but fear not, all improvement’s have been included in a dedicated Jaws 2024 build.

So, for the foreseeable, X8 script version’s will be available for both:

  • Jaws 2024
  • and

  • Jaws 2025 separately.

Combining the support for both version’s of Jaws in 1 solution wasn’t really an efficient possibility, hence why this approach was taken. It is also hoped that in the very near future, this will also extend to support Samplitude ProX7 Suite/X7 in order to bring the scripting approach into line with X8…andX9 when it’s released.

There has been some major changes in this build, and it’s probably been one of the hardest updates so far for me to do, as some of the event handling has had to be changed to mirror the changes in Jaws 2025. However, it’s hoped that the “more native” access available will only improve the user experience and access for all.

The update includes:

  • keyboard support for multiple track selection,
  • keyboard support for moving selected track’s into a new folder track,
  • keyboard support for moving track’s out of a folder,
  • accommodation for what Jaws 2025 now natively speak’s,
  • the addition of changing specific samplitude and Jaws configuration option’s from within Samplitude via the keyboard.
  • and

  • plus a huge amount of script event handling arrangement, more streamlined feedback and bug fixes.

Have a great Christmas everyone!
